Divine Resolutions

“Strengthen your mind and refuse to carry the burden of mental and moral weaknesses acquired in past years; burn them in the fires of your present divine resolutions and right activities. By this constructive attitude you will attain freedom.” - Paramahansa Yogananda

I am reading Rod Stryker’s The Four Desires. Although I started it a few months ago, I find it especially fun work to do on New Year’s Day. I’m progressing through it, methodically moving through each of his excellently guided inquiries. It’s been full of surprises and great clarity and unexpected insights.

John Friend says “Rod Stryker is one of the truly bright lights of modern yoga. He connects to the sincere seeker’s heart, while his straightforward scholarship emboldens the mind. The Four Desires is an outstanding book, advancing the integrity and luster of modern yoga.”

I say, if you’re looking for direction, clarity, understanding, in your life, in your practices, check it out. But don’t just read it. Go through each step, take your time, and if you end up with an answer that doesn’t seem quite right, go back and do it over again. You may be surprised!
